File shares inaccesible after update to latest version

I do not need a solution (just sharing information)

Goodday,

We were experiencing some serious issues with our file server after updating to the latest version yesterday. We updated our server yesterday roughly around 16.00 local time but our problems did not begin untill 10.00 this morning. Our file shares were inaccessible (even from the local machine were the shares were visible). After two restarts (during business hours!) and two attempts to uninstal the SEP software (as we suspected that it was the cause of our issues) we found this article:

The article suggest that this problem is present in version 11.x but we've found that it is present in the latest version aswell. We had to download a tool from symantec to remove the software from our server. The software was removed roughly 1 hour ago and the shares are currently still working. The purpose of this forum discussion is just to inform you of our problems and hopefully it could help someone in someway. The tool to remove the SEP software is called "CleanWipe" from Symantec.
